5/10 & 5/11: Quick Trips

I was crunched for time the past few days, but I was able to get to the river for a little over an hour each day. Fishing was slow, but I managed to land several smallmouth.  

We are still about a month out from the prime bass fishing opportunities of the summer.  Water temperatures are sitting between 50-55 degrees currently putting bass in the pre-spawn stage.  While the fishing has been slower, there are plenty of fish to be caught with the right techniques. I’m having my best luck fishing streamers with slower retrieves targeting areas with breaks in the current.
