April Trout

April marks the official trout opener on stocked waters in Pennsylvania. While I fish year-round on waters where allowed, April is always a month I look forward to. It’s been a blast being out on the water and fishing with family. I especially enjoyed getting my son on some fish during the mentor youth day and the opener. Here are a few pictures of my trips and some of the trout I got this past month.

Some waters I fished in April were Lake Perez, Canoe Lake, Spring Creek, and Standing Stone Creek. I had decent luck with conventional tackle using a Thomas Rough Rider spoon. Fly fishing my best patterns where the clouser minnow, San juan worm, and Adam’s dry fly.
